St Brides Ladies GFC U12’s Team

St Brides Ladies GFC Club, which comprises of girls from U8’s up to their Ladies teams are experiencing great success and seem to be taking it in their stride as most champions do! And what a bunch of Knockbridge and Louth’s finest young ladies! Their U12’s team not only won the league but also the championship, and this clubs bright stars, blitz any pitch they adorn, play with style and win with grace! .. This St. Brides team of Knockbridge are pretty much undefeated….. What makes this team unbeatable and so likeable? And a team you’d like to join yourself … Part of their comrade spirit and winning streak of course lays at the door of their coach and club Chairperson Antoinette Tinnelly, whose own two girls are on the team. Her leadership skills, patience and good tactical management skills have brought this team from the football pitch in a small village to achieve the highest accolade at their level winning the double. But its not just their local neighbours and neighbouring teams that have notices their success. CTEC, the company that produce the infamous CT1 – The Snag List Eliminator – Sealant, are known to spot talent and nurture young sports stars. CT1 are now a proud sponsor of this young dynamic team and look forward to watching the clubs continued success… this was solidified and honoured at the St Brides Clubrooms on 8th November. St Brides Ladies had their juvenile presentation night, where they were presented with a big cheque for the club as well as providing a new kit for the club and a new partnership with CTEC. This was presented by Managing Director Jimmy Walsh and he said “proud to be their new sponsor” and “wish the team every success in the world”. St Brides GFC were founded in 1927 by Fr Seamus Quinn upon his return to the Parish as Parish Priest. St Brides enjoyed their best period on the football field between 1933 and 1943 having won every competition within the county except for the second division. St. Brides Ladies GFC was founded on 22nd February 2006. Eleven people attended this inaugural meeting, which was chaired by Eugene Kirk, chairman of the Juvenile club at the time. At this meeting the officers of the new club were elected. Irene Brennan was elected chairperson; Mary Mc Kenna was elected secretary, while Caroline Dunne would take on the role of treasurer and Rose Mc Geeney the role of P.R.O. Since 2006 the Club has grown from strength to strength and numbers of registered players has multiplied. And it looks like with the training and guidance from the teams Mentors and endless support from the girl’s parents and Local Community it looks like they could achieve that success again. Good Luck St Brides Ladies!
