How to Get a Professional Finish with Bathroom Sealant?

Achieving a professional and smooth finish with a bathroom sealant can be tricky if you’re inexperienced or using an insufficient product. However, if you’re using C-Tec’s new revolutionary bathroom sealant, BT1, getting a professional finish is easy.

BT1 is based on our revolutionary TRIBRID® Technology, which has never been used in the industry before. Since its launch, BT1 has quickly become a leading bathroom sealant that forms a unique durable compound with high elasticity. It’s famous for its anti-bacterial properties, which can reduce bacteria by up to 99.99%.

You can use BT1 for a range of bathroom applications from bonding shower trays and panels to sealing bathtubs and tiling your entire bathroom. But, how can you get a professional finish with this bathroom sealant? Let’s find out!

1. Remove the old sealant first!

If you’ve already completed this step, or you’re starting from scratch, then you can skip this step. Before applying BT1, you’ll need to make sure that the old silicone sealant has been removed. You can use a sharp knife to remove most of the old sealant and then follow-up by using Multisolve. Multisolve is our best multi-purpose solvent and degreaser and it’s perfect for removing old sealants, adhesives, glues, wax, oil and so on.

2. Apply BT1

When the surface is clean, you’re ready to apply BT1. It’s very easy to use and comes in a handy cartridge that can be cut at the nozzle at desired dimensions. You can use either a Skeleton or a Powered Gun depending on your preference. Then, go ahead and apply the product where needed. It can be applied to a range of surfaces and will bond woods, metals, fibreglass, glass, ceramics, brickwork, metals and many more.

3. Finish off the joints with MULTISOLVE

The secret to getting a professional finish with a bathroom sealant is to use Multisolve once again. Multisolve comes in an aerosol can for an easy and clean application. It’s perfect for finishing off the joints and obtaining the smooth, professional look you’re after. It can be used on a range of bathroom surfaces and leaves no oil film in its tracks. It’s very gentle, fast drying and an economical solution. Multisolve is ideal for trades like builders, joiners, plumbers, electricians and many more. It will help leave your joints smooth and works very well with not just BT1, but all of C-TEC’s adhesives and sealants.
