Thinking about fitting a kitchen worktop with CT1 sealant and adhesive? If so, you’ve made an excellent choice. CT1 is a powerful sealant and adhesive that was built for a job like this. With its intense strength, durability, and flexibility, there is no better sealant to fit a kitchen worktop than CT1.
Here are a few of our top tips and advice for fitting a kitchen worktop with CT1:
Plan and prepare in advance
Before you apply CT1 to fit your kitchen worktop, you need to make sure you’ve sufficiently prepared and planned for the job at hand. First, you need to choose what worktop you will use. Kitchen worktops are available in a range of materials such as laminate, granite and wood. Thankfully, CT1 is an incredibly versatile sealant and it will successful bond each of these materials and many more.
Once you have chosen the design and material for your new kitchen worktop, you must make sure that the material is cut to the exact measurements you need. Factory-cut edges usually get the best results. If this is a DIY job, take the proper safety measurements before you begin cutting the material to the proper size. If you need help, reach out to a professional tradesperson to help cut more difficult materials such as granite or stone.
Using CT1 to fit a kitchen worktop
When your new kitchen worktop has been cut, it’s a good idea to position it on the base units of your kitchen to make sure it fits. You might find that you need to trim a few more inches or centimetres from the sides, which is completely fine. Once you are happy with the fit, apply CT1 sealant to the base of the material and place the worktop in the desired position. Press firmly to encourage adhesion. You may also apply the adhesive to the joining strip of the worktops. If you need to attach the end strip separately, use masking tape to help align the sealant application and protect the surface of the worktop. Press the end strip firmly in place and then simply peel away the masking tape.
CT1 – The Snag List Eliminator
You do not have to be a design architect to fit a kitchen worktop with CT1 sealant and adhesive. It provides instant repair and bonding strength, making the entire process of fitting kitchen worktops a piece of cake.
You can even paint over CT1 if you like. If you’d rather skip the paint job though, there are a variety of CT1 colours to choose from including white, silver, black, brown, grew, oak, and many more. You’ll need to use a mastic gun to apply CT1, which also helps to achieve a precise application. For best results, make sure that you apply CT1 on a clean and degreased surface.
