A mirror can be a great staple to give any room a new lease of life. But it’s not always straightforward to mount them where you want. Depending on the style of mirror you’ve bought and the surface you want to mount it on, you may not be able to use traditional mounting or hanging methods like nails or fixings. So, you might have to look for an alternative solution.
Using a powerful adhesive like CT1 is a fantastic way to mount mirrors without using nails or fixings. CT1 is a revolutionary hybrid polymer that makes mounting mirrors far quicker and simpler than other methods and provides a long-lasting bond like no other adhesive. CT1 is far more suitable than other adhesives who claim they can bond mirrors to surfaces but don’t disclose the damage they do over time. Adhesives that include solvents or isocyanates will permanently damage and degrade your mirror, resulting in unsightly black spots. CT1 does not contain solvent or isocyanate content and therefore is perfectly mirror-safe.

The key to successfully mounting a mirror without nails or fixings is preparation. CT1 sealant and adhesive has an instant, extremely high grab that will do most of the work for you, but to ensure a strong and long-lasting bond, there are a few things you can do.
First, wipe the space you want to mount the mirror on with a clean, damp cloth. Do the same to the back of your mirror. If you’re mounting your mirror in a bathroom or in an environment where there is grease or dirt present, it’s best to give the surface a more thorough clean. When dry, use a pencil or wipeable marker to indicate exactly where you want the mirror to go on the wall or surface. Once your mirror has bonded to the surface, you won’t be able to remove it, so it’s crucial that you know exactly how you want it to look. Marking it out in advance is the best way to ensure you get its positioning correct.
Next, snip the tip of the CT1 nozzle and place the cartridge in your caulking gun. On the back of the mirror, apply CT1 sealant and adhesive in short, evenly spaced lines, making sure they’re staggered. Then, carefully lift the mirror and place it where your markings indicate it should go. Unlike conventional mirror adhesives, CT1 has such incredible grab it will bond to the wall immediately. So, all that’s left to do is give your mirror a quick clean!
