3 Home DIY Jobs You Can Do During Lockdown

Are you fed up at home during lockdown? If so, you might want to think about using this time to get a few jobs done around the house. Many people in lockdown have turned to DIY jobs to help keep them busy while finally ticking tasks off their to-do lists. Thankfully, many of the tasks that need done around the house don’t require a professional. You can do many of these things yourself.

Here are five easy home DIY jobs you can do during lockdown:

  1. Fix drafty windows

If you notice a draft coming through your window, it might be a good time to fix it. Old and cracked sealant is often the cause of drafty windows and it’s an easy problem to fix. First, grab a blade to help scrape and remove the old sealant around the window. Once that is done and you’ve cleaned away the residue, you can start to apply CT1 sealant and adhesive. CT1 is the future of construction sealants and uses a unique TRIBRID® Technology to provide a strong and powerful bond. CT1 is the perfect sealant to help fix drafty windows, so go ahead and apply it where you removed the previous sealant. Smooth the bead with your finger and give the sealant time to cure. Fixing drafty windows is as simple as that!

  1. Reseal your bath

You’d be surprised at how different your bathroom will look after resealing your bath. Old sealant can become discoloured over time and the increased exposure to water and moisture can leave cracks in the sealant. If you think it’s time for a fresh look, use a Stanley knife to remove the old sealant. It should pull off quite easily. Then, you’re ready to reseal your bath using CT1 sealant and adhesive. If you notice any bigger gaps around the bath, seal those areas first. Then, continue to seal around the bath in one smooth and consistent process. If you need help keeping the lines straight, use some masking tape!

  1. Repair a leaky gutter

Tired of water dripping from your gutter? Lockdown is the perfect time to finally resolve this issue and you can do so with CT1 sealant and adhesive. CT1 is UV resistant, which means it’s ideal for use outdoors and it won’t crack, shrink, or dry over time. It has excellent resistance to vibration and works in wet or dry conditions, so you don’t have to wait for the sun to come out to repair your leaky gutter. It might help to clean the gutter though and remove things like leaves and pebbles, etc. Then, you can use CT1 to repair any cracks or leaks in the gutter. Say goodbye to that annoying dripping sound!
